Quantico Turkey Hunting

Turkey hunting on Quantico occurs both in the fall and in the spring. See the Annual Hunting Bulletin for season dates.

For the Fall turkey season, Quantico hunters harvest an average of 10-15 birds.
During the fall season, either sex can be taken and only one bird can be harvested per day.
During the fall season, dogs may be used on Base to aid in the hunt.

For the Spring Gobbler season, our ten year average is 67 birds harvested.
During the spring season, only bearded birds may be harvested and only one bird can be harvested per day.
Turkey dogs are not allowed during the spring gobbler season.

In Virginia, you are given 3 turkey tags on your annual license. During either the fall or spring season on Base, a maximum of two may be taken during either season. All three of your Virginia tags can be used on Base so long as the preceeding regulation is followed.
